The real Jiu Jitsu is what Pedro Valente shows in the backroom while the watered-down version is what he shows in the group classes.

The 53 videos on the redbeltjiujitsu youtube link (above) feature all the moves which Pedro only shows in the privates, and also the moves which he specifically only reveals to the black belts. Because in his school the more you pay the more you learn.

He specifically demands from his black belts not to use these secret techniques when sparring lower belts as to not risk exposing these moves. He even goes as far as instructing his black belts that in case they get caught, and conventional escapes (what he shows in group classes) won’t work, to tap out rather than to perform and expose these secret escape techniques.

To become a black belt in his school it will take you 10-15yrs of training and thus you will end up spending between $25,000-$35,000 on tuition and privates. There are monetary motives involved of as to why he doesn’t reveal these moves to you!
